Charles Wesley Purce Sr., age 75, of Nortonville, entered eternal rest at 8:14 p.m. on Sunday September 16, 2018 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.  Born March 8, 1943 in Dayton,OH. he was the son of the late Russell Purce Sr. and Mattie E. Taylor.  He attended Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville and retired from Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company in Graham,KY.  He loved fishing, playing his guitar, and was an avid hunter.  He also was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Purce in 1997 and one sister Donna Fisher.  He leaves behind to cherish loving memories three sons Ronnie Purce of Columbus,OH., Charles Purce Jr. of Elizabethtown,KY., and Tyrone Purce of Nortonville; five daughters Deborah Goodrich of Dayton, Elaine Purce of Nortonville, Lillian (Deljuan) Hendrix of Madisonville, Sulenia (William) Golightly of Indianapolis,IN., and Lela (DeJuan) Davis of Madisonville; one brother Russell (Daisy) Purce Jr. of Columbus; three sisters Priscilla Purce Lembert of Columbus, Tina (Wenners) Ballard of Manassas,VA., and Teresa (Lemenuel Sr.) Dungey of Dumfries,VA.; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  His life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Monday September 24, 2018 at Elliott Mortuary in Madisonville.  The Rev. Robert L. Cottoner will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date.  Visitation and wake services will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday September 24, 2018 at the funeral home.
