Izory J. Joyce Drake, age 78, of Madisonville, entered eternal rest at 3:07 p.m. Thursday May 10, 2018 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.  Born February 15, 1940 in Diamond,Ky., she was the daughter of the late Anderson Joyce and Nannie Hall Joyce.  She was a member of Branch Street Church of God in Christ in Madisonville where she served faithfully as a member of the Mothers Board, Pastor's Aide Committee, Usher Board, Women's Choir, and Culinary Department.  Mother Izory Drake loved the Lord.  She showed a lot of love to everyone.  She was a faithful mother, faithful to her family, and a dedicated wife.  She loved to cook and bake.  She also loved to travel.  She also was preceded in death by six brothers, Bill Joyce, Matthew Joyce, Roy Joyce, Charles Joyce, George Edward Joyce, and Doug Joyce; and four sisters, Evie Kivell, Mary Price, Pauline Brown, and Rosa Mae Chambers.  She leaves behind to cherish loving memories her husband of 53 years and whom she married on September 26, 1964, Alford Drake Sr. of Madisonville; one son, Alfred (Siyama) Drake Jr. of Powder Springs,Ga.; two daughters, Constance Drake and Brenaye (Eugene) Hughes both of Madisonville; two brothers, Marshall (Ann) Joyce and Ernest (Paulette) Joyce both of Madisonville; three grandchildren, Jeremy Drake, Jabez Hughes, and Qzora Drake-Walter; one great-grandchild, Keira Sherman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Her life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 15, 2018 at Branch Street Church of God in Christ.  The Elder Kenneth Walker will officiate.  Burial will be in Elliott Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.  Visitation and wake services will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday May 14, 2018 and after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 15, 2018 at the church.  A Celebration of Life DVD will be shown.  Elliott Mortuary in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.  Share condolences at www.elliottmortuarycares.com.
