Virginia Lurlean Scisney, age 91, of Earlington, entered eternal rest at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday February 21, 2018 at Eagle Valley Meadows in Indianapolis.  Born April 9, 1926 in Madisonville, she was the daughter of the late Mada and Lucy McNary Scisney.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Hecla of Earlington where at an early age she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir.  She was employed in housekeeping at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, worked as a nannie for Dr. Stephanie Trover, and attended J. W. Million High School in Earlington.  She also was preceded in death by two brothers, William E. Scisney and Leo Scisney; and three sisters, Mary C. Smith, Anna R. Wilson, and Ruby H. Hendrix.  She leaves behind to cherish loving memories eight sons, James W. Smith of Princeton, James S. Gillum of Earlington, Rev. H. A. (Earlene) Suggs III of Earlington, Ellis D. Scisney of Earlington, Glen E. (Malishia) Scisney of Madisonville, Reginald L. Scisney of Earlington, Neal (Angela) Scisney of Madisonville, and Minister William L. (Cheryl) Scisney of Indianapolis; four daughters, Mary L. Smith of Louisville, Minnie L. (Albert) Moore of Wilmington,NC., Jacqueline E. Scisney of Madisonville, and Sharon A. Foster (Papa) Ndiaye of Indianapolis; a special daughter, Shirley Minor of Madisonville; one brother, James L. (Grace) Scisney of Indianapolis; one sister-in-law, Maureen Scisney of Madisonville; 31 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Her life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Monday February 26, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  The Rev. Demetrius A. Russell Sr. will officiate.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington.  Visitation and wake services will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Monday February 26, 2018 at the church where a Celebration of Life DVD will be shown.
