Carol Poston Obituary

Carol Jean Hobgood Poston, age 63, of Madisonville, entered into her eternal rest at 4:03 p.m. Monday September 28, 2020 at Heartford House Hospice of Western Kentucky in Owensboro. Born September 3, 1957 in Madisonville, she was the daughter of the late James Hobgood and Ruby Mae Woodard Hobgood. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville and Ladies of the 80's Social Club. She retired from Peebles Department Store in Madisonville where she had worked as a salesperson for over 14 years, was a former manager at KFC in Madisonville, and formerly employed with Senior Citizens Nursing Home and Lakeshore Country Club in Madisonville. She was a community volunteer worker and would help anyone. She enjoyed knitting, drawing, dancing, singing, and fishing. She also was preceded in death by two brothers Arthur Hobgood and James Hobgood; and by two sisters Marcia Hobgood and Sueada Stafford. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories one son James (Ashley) Hobgood of Madisonville; two daughters Crystol Cumens of Madisonville and Jamie (Daniel) Porter of Indianapolis,IN.; four brothers Terry Hobgood of Madisonville; Jerry Hobgood of Atlanta,GA., Tommy (Mollie) Hobgood and Marvin Hobgood both of Rochester,NY.; three sisters Paula Mae Snorton of Texas, Adell (Oliver) Wilkes of Madisonville, and Linda Black of Rochester,NY.; 16 grandchildren Jasondra Cumens, Jason Cumens Jr., Ja'Darion Brown, Ja'Quarius Brown, Ja'Liah Brown, Darius Rorer, Olander Porter, Christian Porter, Alex Porter, Chaz Porter, Xavier Porter, Malaysha Porter, Gabriel Porter, Jayme Stafford, Jaylee Stafford, and one deceased Isaiah Porter; two great-grandchildren Aiden Brown and Keana Rorer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. There will be no public services held. Services will be private.
