Charmaine (Thomas) Brown

Charmaine Thomas-Brown was born June 30, 1955 in Earlington to the late Hiawatha Simms-Thomas and Hobert Thomas Jr. 

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and was an active member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Earlington where she served on the Mother's Board, was a member of the choir and Cleo Taylor Circle. 

She attended J.W. Million School and Earlington High School.  She later attended Madisonville Community College where she studied business law and had a 4.0 grade point average.  She graduated from ITT Technical Institute in Evansville, Indiana. 

She was employed with McCoy & McCoy Laboratories in Madisonville for many years and the Dollar General Store in Madisonville as an assistant manager before she retired.

She enjoyed listening to all types of music, loved her church family and especially going to church with her brother Rev. Donald Thomas.  She also loved going riding around with her grandchildren, was a sweet person that everyone loved and loved to talk to and loved working crossword puzzles. 

On Friday November 25, 2022 our beloved angel was called home to be with the Lord and Savior who she loved to worship.

She also was preceded in death by her husband Charles Brown; and sisters Frances Thomas-Hill and Janet Isabell.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories two daughters Tiffany Porter and Blair Brown both of Madisonville; one son Darius Brown of Madisonville; one brother Rev. Donald (Beverly) Thomas of Earlington; her grandchildren Kevin Combs Jr., Jordan Nichols, and Erica Rice; bonus grandchildren Dylen Phelps, Madison Hust, Trevor Hust, Paisley Armstrong, and Serenity Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Charmaine's life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 1 at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Earlington.  The Reverend Terrence Minor will officiate.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington. 

Visitation and wake services will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
