Edwin Dale Burns Jr.

Edwin "Eddie" Dale Burns Jr., 47, of Barnsley, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025 in Madisonville with his family by his bedside.  Eddie was born September 7, 1978 in Madisonville. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Dale Burns, his stepfather, Kenneth Hibbs, his stepsister, Lisa Farley, and grandfather, Jeril Clark.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Clark Hibbs.  He was formerly employed with Shelby Tire, LLC in Madisonville as an automotive technician. He was a graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins High School.  He was a talented woodworker, making bowls and vases, was an avid outdoorsman, and he especially loved fishing and riding ATVs. He was a man of talent and skill who could make anything work- no matter if it was deemed impossible or not.  Most of all he loved his children, mother, sisters,grandparents, and extended family, all of whom will miss him dearly.  

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories to his mother Carolyn Hibbs of Madisonville; his grandmother, Noretta Clark; his son Micah (Kaylee) O'Bryan Burns of Earlington, and daughter Aubrey "Paige" Burns of Madisonville; one step-brother Charles “Chuck” Hibbs; two sisters Amy (Johnny) Beard of Madisonville, and Amanda (Matthew) Gordon of Madisonville; several aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.  

Funeral services for Eddie will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday November 8, 2025 at Earlington Assembly of God Church in Earlington, where visitation and viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with Timothy Vannoy as eulogist. 

Burial will be in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville. 

Elliott-Bowles Mortuary in Madisonville will oversee his funeral services.
