Henry Douglas McClure

January 15, 1953 ~ September 29, 2018 (age 65) 65 Years Old

     Henry Douglas McClure, age 65, of Henderson, entered eternal rest at 4:30 p.m. Saturday September 29, 2018 at Methodist Hospital.  Born January 15, 1953 in Henderson, he was the son of Virgie Mae Sugg McClure and the late Henry Lewis McClure.  He attended Mount Olivet Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson.  He retired after 40 years from Alcan Aluminum Plant in Robards,Ky. and attended Henderson City High School where he played football, basketball, ran track, and was nominated for the Hall of Fame in football.  He was a mentor for young people and a spokesperson for Alcoholics Anonymous for those suffering from alcohol and drug addiction.  Henry was a very religious person and knew the Bible well.  He had a caring heart and was a good man.  He loved fishing, cooking, wrestling, and race cars.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was very much into politics.  He also was preceded in death by one brother, David McClure.  He leaves behind to cherish loving memories his mother Virgie Mae McClure of Henderson; two brothers Elijah Boone McClure and Donald Ray McClure both of Henderson; three sisters Wanda McClure, Debra McClure, and Marschelle McClure all of Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  His life will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Saturday October 6, 2018 at Mount Olivet Missionary Baptist Church.  The Rev. Anthony Anguish will officiate.  Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson.  Visitation and wake services will be after 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.  Elliott Mortuary in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.
