Jerry Glenn Hobgood, 64, of Madisonville, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday April 16, 2025 at his home with his son by his bedside.
A native of Madisonville, he was born to the late James A. Hobgood and Ruby Mae Woodard Hobgood on May 20, 1960.
He was a self-employed carpenter, loved fishing, and enjoyed music.
In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by three brothers, (his twin brother) Terry Hobgood, James E. Hobgood, and Arthur L. Hobgood; and by three sisters, Sueada Stafford, Marcia Ann Hobgood, and Carol Jean Poston.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories four sons, Jerry Hobgood Jr. of Atlanta , Georgia, Jermaine Powell of Madisonville, Courtney Brown of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Jeremy Brown of LaGrange, Georgia; two brothers, Thomas (Molly) Hobgood of Rochester, New York and Marvin Hobgood of Rochester, New York; three sisters, Paula Snorton of Balch Springs, Texas, Linda (Cornelius) Black of Rochester, New York, and Adell (Oliver) Wilkes of Madisonville; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jerry's wish after he transitioned was to be cremated.
There will be no funeral services held.
