Jo Nell (Bearden) Maltba

Jo Nell Bearden Maltba, age 79, of Hanson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at 1:22 a.m. Sunday October 8, 2023 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville with her family by her side. 

Born January 13, 1944 a native of Anton, Kentucky, she was born to the late Johnny Franklin Bearden and Willie Pearl Hancock Bearden. 

She was self-employed and retired co-owner of Golden Glaze Donuts in Madisonville with her husband of 46 years, Donald Maltba, who preceded her in death. 

They took over as owners of Golden Glaze Donuts in 1974 until selling the business to its current owner.

In her earlier years she loved playing bingo and going bowling.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.  

In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug Brown and Wally Bearden, and one sister, Linda Pleasant. 

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories two sons, Mike (Melea) Maltba of Kannapolis, North Carolina and Tim (Tiffane) Maltba of Concord, North Carolina; one daughter Missy (John) Wheeler of Winchester, Indiana; three brothers, John (Dearlene) Bearden and Michael Anthony Bearden both of Madisonville, and Kenny (Cathy) Bearden of Anton; four sisters, Doris (Ray) Maltba of Hanson, Barbara Todd, Anita (Glenn) Davis, and Martha Todd all of Madisonville; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In honoring her wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation services.
