JoAnn McNary Davis, age 84, of Madisonville, passed away peacefully at 6:34 p.m. Wednesday September 20, 2023 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville with her family by her side.
Born March 9, 1939 a native of Madisonville, she was the daughter of the late John McNary and Lillian Dean McNary.
She was a faithful member of Eastview Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville where she served in the Culinary Department and helped with the Vacation Bible School.
She retired from General Electric (GE) in Madisonville after 27 years as a production worker, attended Kentucky State University in Frankfort, KY., and taught school at historic African American Rosenwald High School in Madisonville, KY.
She loved fishing, cooking, decorating, crafting, working puzzles, and was an avid mockingbird watcher.
Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband Albert Davis and a brother John McNary.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories her sons Kyle (Cheri) McNary of Hanson, KY., Larrie (Valarie) McNary of Madisonville, KY., Keith (Karen) McNary of Matthews, NC., and Mike (Lisa) McNary of Lexington, KY.; her daughter Tara McNary of Madisonville, KY.; her sister-in-law Rose McNary of Providence, KY.; her 14 grandchildren Natasha (Marcus) Murray, Natalie (Jermaine) Taylor, Amber McNary, Kaycie McNary, Mike (Julia) McNary II, Trey McNary, Trevor McNary, Jordan McNary, Jolaine McNary, Davis McNary, Chase McNary, Layne McNary, Adrian Dulin, and Alleric Dulin; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday September 26, 2023 at Eastview Missionary Baptist Church.
The Reverend and Pastor LaBarron F. McAdoo Jr. will eulogize.
Visitation and wake services will be from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time Tuesday at the church.
