Kenneth Terrell "Rail" Armstead Sr., age 53, of Henderson, passed away peacefully at 1:39 a.m. Tuesday March 8, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 1, 1969, a native of Henderson, he was the son of Arnetta Mayjo Clark Armstead and the late John Davis Armstead. He attended Seventh Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson, was employed with Henderson Community College, and was a 1987 graduate of Henderson County High School. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and L.A. Lakers fan, and loved playing spades.
To know Rail was to love him. He loved spending time with his family and was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
He also was preceded in death by a brother Timothy Wayne Armstead.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories his mother Arnetta Armstead of Henderson; sons Kenneth Armstead Jr. and Keiarie Armstead both of Henderson; daughters Kaneia Finch and Kyhla Finch both of Los Angeles, California; brothers Kevin (Bonita) Armstead and Kimball Armstead both of Henderson; sisters Sandra Robertson, Debra Armstead, Sharon Armstead, and Sherry (Tracey) Key all of Henderson; a grandchild Kashton Armstead of Henderson; an aunt Marjorie Armstead of Newburgh, Indiana; special nieces Tiffany Armstead and Erica Hardrick both of Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday March 15 at Seventh Street Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson. The Reverend R.T. Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson. Visitation and wake services will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday March 14 and after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
