Kimberly Dawn (Copeland) McNeal

Kimberly Dawn "Kim" Copeland McNeal, 63, of Ocoee, Florida, formerly of Earlington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 23, 2025 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. 

A native of Earlington, she was born to the late Horace Copeland Sr. and Rose Marie Childress on January 10, 1962. 

"Kim" as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, confessed her life at an early age at Gough Tabernacle AME Zion in Earlington, Kentucky.  She later became a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Madisonville, Kentucky.

Kim was a graduate of West Hopkins High School.  Her college years include attending Western Kentucky University and Madisonville Communiity College where she received a degree as a Registered Nurse.  Kim spent a great portion of her career as a traveling nurse. 

Kim enjoyed life and especially making lasting memories with her family and friends.  Her life adventures included traveling, attending concerts, poetry events and playing cards.

In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Zamiyah Reid; sisters, Sandy Copeland-Woodridge, Rita Copeland and Cynthia Copeland; brothers, Sammy Copeland, James Copeland Sr., Larry Carney Sr., and Terry W. Hughes; nephew, Keith Copeland; and nieces, LaTonya Copeland and Hope A. Carney.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories her daughters, Kandice (Robert) Gray of Louisville, Kentucky and Katrina (Rolando) Reid of Ocoee, Florida; her sons, Kameron McNeal and Kalan Langley-McNeal of Louisville, Kentucky; her granddaughters, Kaliyah Lewis of Louisville, Kentucky and Quiana Doctor of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; her grandsons, Izaiah Doctor of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Legacy Reid of Ocoee, Florida; her bonus grandchildren, Robert Gray Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, Zion and Zyere Reid of Ocoee, Forida; her brothers, Robert (Ann) Copeland Sr. and Horace Copeland Jr.; her sisters, Mary Copeland, Linda F. Hughes, Beverly J. Copeland, and Shirley Copeland (Harvey) Baker; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Memorial services to celebrate Kim's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday February 15, 2025 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville. 

The Reverend Robert L. Cottoner will officiate. 

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington. 

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
