LaDonna Faye Marshall Lisembee, 66, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at 4:10 p.m. on Monday July 8, 2024 at her home.
A native of Henderson, she was born to the late Robert Marshall and Yvonne Hairlson Marshall on November 8, 1957.
Affectionately called "Donna Faye" by all who knew her, she was a faithful member of Greater Norris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson where she served for many years as a Circle #4 Missionary District member, member of the Choir, member of the Culinary Department, member of the Van Ministry as a bus driver, and where she started the TLC (Teenagers Living for Christ) Youth Ministry. She was a spiritual person, a prayer warrior, who would visit the sick and shut in and help people through rough times. She was a go to person. She retired after 33 years from Green River District Health Department in Henderson where she worked as an Office Administrator, volunteered many years at the Assistant Living Personal Care Home in Henderson, and was a 1976 graduate of Henderson City High School. She loved cooking, playing bingo, spades cards, and bid wiz card games, watching television shows, reading books, and most of all talking on the telephone.
The pride and joy of her life was spending time with her children and grandchildren; her brother and sisters; and her four special friends Gloria Pruitt, Joan Lisembee, Kathleen Calhoun-Clements, and Gayle Johnson, all of whom will dearly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, William Lisembee who died in 2009; and by one sister, Paula Marshall Byrd.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her son Adrian (Briggetta) Lisembee of Newburgh, Indiana; her daughter, Karis Bradley of Henderson; her brother, Larry (Dorothy) Marshall of Cliffwood, New Jersey; her sisters, Tina Marshall Stott of Louisville, Kentucky and Vonda (Darryl) Hairlson Matthews of Glendale, California; her uncle, Elder James (Pearle) Hairlson of Gary, Indiana; her aunt, Joyce (Calvin) Johnson of Henderson; her grandchildren, Alexandria Lisembee, Zaria Bradley, Cidney Lisembee, Ajanae Bradley, Ayden Lisembee, Keshae Harvey, Michael Harvey, and Isaiah Jackson; her great-grandchildren, Kamaya Lewis, Kyrell Lewis, Kaybri Lewis, and Khyian Lewis; nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
Her life will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday July 16, 2024 at Greater Norris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson.
The Reverend and Pastor Charles E. Johnson will officiate.
Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson.
Visitation and wake services will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church, with a Pre-Musical during time of visitation.
Elliott-Bowles Mortuary in Madisonville is in charge of her professional services and arrangements.
