Michael Lydon McNary, 69, of Madisonville, passed away peacefully at 5:25 p.m. on Thursday May 7, 2026 at Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare Nursing Facility in Madisonville with his family members by his bedside.
A native of Madisonville, he was born to the late Eugene Lester McNary and Beulah Mae Lovan McNary on April 4, 1957.
He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Manufacturing Plant in Madisonville where he had worked as a production assembly line worker for many years, was a graduate of South Hopkins High School where he played as a member of the basketball team, and his main hobby was fishing.
In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by three brothers, Earnest McNary, James McNary, and Wilson Evans; and by two sisters, Gloria Bostick and Alice Lovan.
He leaves behind a host of family members who will dearly miss him, including, four sons, Leon Davis of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, Michael Lydon (Sharri) McNary of Evansville, Indiana, Sheldon (Simone) McNary of Evansville, Indiana, and Brandon McNary of Nashville, Tennessee; five brothers, William Leon McNary of Nortonville, Kentucky, Olis Wayne McNary of Madisonville, Darryl McNary of Nortonville, Kentucky, Wesley McNary of Evansville, Indiana, and Gary Lee McNary; three sisters, Wilda Arnett of Madisonville, Wanda Taborn of Madisonville, and Virginia Deberry of Nortonville, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Darnell McNary of Akron, Ohio; five grandchildren, Amaya McNary of Evansville, Indiana, Chloe McNary of Evansville, Indiana, Sarai McNary of Evansville,Indiana, Samara McNary of Evansville, Indiana, and Ya'Zir McNary of Nashville, Tennessee; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The life of Michael Lydon McNary will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 16, 2026 at Elliott-Bowles Mortuary Chapel.
Pastor Paul Lovan (Pastor of Now Faith Original Church of God in Crofton, Kentucky) will preside over the service and be eulogist.
Burial will be in Elliott Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation and wake services for Michael Lydon McNary will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Elliott-Bowles Mortuary in Madisonville, Kentucky will be overseeing the funeral services.
