Phillip Washington Compton, age 58, of Henderson, entered into his eternal rest at 2:02 p.m Tuesday November 13, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson. He was born January 15, 1960 in Henderson. He was a member of Seventh Street Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson. He was employed with Bootz Industries in Evansville,Indiana as a fork truck operator. He was a graduate of Henderson County High School and a veteran of the Kentucky Army National Guard. He loved watching football and basketball, and loved all sports. He was an avid UK and Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Josephine Marshall Compton; and by his wife, Susan Compton. He leaves behind to cherish loving memories his father, Nathaniel (Florence) Thomas of Henderson; his son, Justin Compton of Henderson; his two sisters, Minnie (Ronnie) Eldridge and Delese Ray both of Henderson; his aunt, Mary Ervin of Henderson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 21, 2018 at Seventh Street Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Anthony M. Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday November 21, 2018 at the church. Military Honors will be performed by the 101st Airborne Division of Fort Campbell and American Legion Post 40 of Henderson. Elliott Mortuary in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.
