Richard Mackey Jr.

Richard Mackey Jr., age 87, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Madisonville, passed away peacefully at 8:05 p.m. Sunday June 4, 2023 at Brickyard Golden Living Healthcare Center in Evansville.

Born July 30, 1935 a native of Ilsley, Kentucky, he was the son of the late George Mackey and Mildred Taylor Mackey. 

He had worked for former Ruby Concrete Company in Madisonville and in the coal mines. 

He loved fishing and hunting. 

In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Palmer Mackey; sons Jeffery Wayne Hall and Terry Leon Hall; brothers Theoplis Mackey, GH Mackey, and Douglas McArthur Mackey; sister Pearl Bates and sister-in-law Laura Bell Mackey. 

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories his son Chester Slaten of Cincinnatti, Ohio; his daughters Mary Cody of Cincinnatti, Ohio and Teresa Hall of Evansville, Indiana; his brother John Wayne Mackey of Madisonville; his sisters Jessie Burroughs of Cades, South Carolina and Ora Lee Blume of Baltimore, Maryland; his sister-in-law Viola Mackey of Madisonville; 11 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

There will be no funeral services. 

Memorial services will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday July 22, 2023  at the Larry Carney Center located on Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Madisonville.
