Robert Lee Dixon Jr., age 75, of Henderson, formerly of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away peacefully at 7:40 p.m. Friday May 6, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.
Born February 14, 1947, a native of Henderson, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Dixon Sr. and Mary Sutton Dixon.
He was a faithful member of Henderson Church of Christ where he served as a communion server, usher, and substitute bible class teacher. He was well loved by his church family.
He retired from Ford Motor Company where he worked as an inspector, and was a graduate of Douglass High School in Henderson where he played on the football team. He loved playing golf and tennis of which he received many trophies and awards. He also loved to fish, hunt, and working with guns.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter Fredericka Dixon, a brother Donald Dixon, and a sister Barbara West; brothers-in-law Charles D. West and Rev. Ira C. Higgins.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 12 years Glenda G. Dixon of Henderson; sons Robert "Robby" Dixon and Marcus Dixon both of Detroit, Michigan, and Seth Dixon of Sandusky, Ohio; daughters Carissa Langley and Katherine Langley both of Henderson; sisters Shirley Higgins, Patricia (Thurman) Gilbert, Mary (Donald) Grasty, and Linda Johnson all of Henderson; a special brother-in-law Paul Johnson of Clarksville, Tennessee; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday May 13 at Henderson Church of Christ. Bro. David Salisbury will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson.
Visitation and wake services will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Friday May 13 at the church.
