Rodney Eldridge Sr. Obituary

On April 6th, 2023, Rodney Todd Eldridge, Sr (Todd), 61, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Henderson, completed his earthly life assignment.

He passed away peacefully at 12:58 a.m. at  Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana with his family by his side.

Todd was born in March 1962 to Armetta and Rudolph Eldridge I, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Kentucky.  

He attended Henderson Public Schools and graduated from Henderson County Senior High School.  Upon Graduation Todd attended Western Kentucky University, University of Southern Indiana, and Oakland City University.  

Prior to his retirement in 2015, Todd spent most of his professional career as a procurement agent, while employed as a purchasing agent he helped establish many protocols which are still applicable to date.  

Todd was an extremely spiritual person. He believed in something much more than a physical life. He served as Deacon and Trustee at First Missionary Baptist Church of Henderson, Kentucky, where he was baptized at the age of 9 years old. 

Once Todd Went into retirement, he found his true hobby and love in motorcycle riding. At one point he was a member of Blackjack Motorcycle Club of Evansville, Indiana.  A club dedicated to helping the less fortunate and looked upon as mentors to the youth. Todd was also an Avid UK basketball fan and showed his passion proudly! Todd devoted as much of his time, health permitting, with his children and grandchildren.  His family was without a doubt the purpose of his existence.  

Todd leaves to cherish his memories, Corey James Eldridge, Sr., Britney Sentoria Davis, Rodney Todd Eldridge, Jr., and Adia Iman Eldridge. He also leaves his former wife of twenty-one years, Marvita Renee Ringo Eldridge of which they continued a lifelong friendship. Grandchildren: Jakayla Acker, AizhonMalique Johnson, Za’Mya Iman Eldridge, Corey James Eldridge Jr., Rome Kimoni Eldridge, Zane Amadi Eldridge, Ja’NelleAlyse Buckner, Asiah James Buckner, Zion Semaji Eldridge, Joy Renee Buckner, Jemani Andrenette Buckner and great granddaughter Italy Wilson. Brothers: Randy D (Mildred) Eldridge of St. Louis, MO, Rowland P. Eldridge of Henderson, KY, Sister Carol (Doug) White of Evansville, IN and Aunt Venita Hatchett Harvey of Henderson, KY. Todd also had host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and friends including two very special friends Tony G. Carroll and Kayla Williams.

Todd was preceded in death by his mother Armetta L. Eldridge, father Rudolph Eldridge I, and siblings Rudolph Eldridge II, Joy Beth Eldridge, and Ricardo Crispen Eldridge.

His life will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Saturday April 15, 2023 in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home located at 5330 Washington Ave. in Evansville with Elliott-Bowles Mortuary in Madisonville, Kentucky conducting the service.

Visitation and wake services will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
