Ronald Bowman Jr. Obituary

Ronald Ray Bowman Jr., 64, of Madisonville, passed away at 3:29 p.m. Thursday July 2, 2026 at his home.

A native of Madisonville, he was born to the late Ronald Ray Bowman Sr. and Lillian Teresa White Bowman on July 15, 1961.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Hecla of Earlington, Kentucky, a U.S. Army and Marines veteran, serving in both for 4 years, and graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins High School where he played basketball and football.  He loved watching college sports football, basketball, baseball, boxing and was an avid University of Louisville Cardinals fan.  He enjoyed listening to music, especially Jazz music, loved working on old cars, and cooking.

Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren, as he would always be there for them to babysit when needed and they loved him as well.  His family and friends will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was also preceded in death by one son, Christopher Bowman; one daughter, Amanda Bowman; and by three brothers, Dewayne Todd Bowman, Tracy Carlene Bowman, and Leo Scisney.

Ronald leaves behind to cherish his many loving memories, three sons, Brandon (Rayna) Broady of Madisonville, Ronald Bowman III of Saint Louis, Missouri, and Ronald LaShawn Bowman of Madisonville; one daughter, Annette Goree of Lincoln, Alabama; four brothers, Ronnie Bowman of Louisville, Kentucky, Jermaine Bowman of Madisonville, Ryan Bowman of Madisonville, and Ricky Scisney of Earlington; three sisters, Ronalyn Ann (Bruce) Williams of Earlington, Stacia Arlene Bowman of Covington, Washington, and Rhondlyn Randolph of Owensboro, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; 4 plus great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
